A World Without Racism is Equal
Equality Is Important Since It Affects Many Facets of Life
Equality is a topic that is being brought up very often nowadays, and it is for good reason. Equality is crucial for any society to progress and grow. When there is equality there is no discrimination and everyone (regardless of gender, ethnicity, political views, etc.) is treated in the same way. When there is equality there’s a sense of confidence that is brought about because people feel free to get involved in things and to share the knowledge and talents they have. As a result of this, people become more productive and the world does better economically as well.
It is also important to note that equality is necessary in all aspects of our lives. Below we will discuss several types of equality that we must work to achieve:
Political Equality
This is a fairly simple concept to understand. Political equality means that everyone within a certain country must have equal power to vote or hold political positions regardless of gender, race, looks, and so forth. Of course, this does not counteract the fact that the person needs to qualify for the credentials needed and understand what they are doing in order to hold the positions, but physical discriminating factors should not be present in the elections and decisions that are made.
Natural Equality
Natural equality is the aspect that everyone is born equal and free, no individual is inherently better than another. We are all human. We are all the same. With this type of equality, society becomes better as a whole.
Civil Equality
This type of equality implies that all people within a society must be treated the same regardless of what part of the country they are from, what their religious beliefs are, what their financial status is, and so forth, there should be absolutely no discrimination between anyone.
Social Equality
This type of equality is one which we struggle with the most oftentimes, but the basis of it is that every individual in a society should be able to have the same opportunities as anyone else, all other things equal. For example, anyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, etc should be able to attend Harvard so long as they meet the educational requirements. Every qualified applicant for a job should have the same chance at getting it regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, etc.
All in all, equality affects us in many ways and it is absolutely vital for us to make sure that we strive for equality in all aspects. Inequality can lead to high crime rates, negatively impact the health and well-being of people, and negatively impact the economic success of a country, as well as many other negative effects. Equality is a very important topic and one that affects us all. We must remember this and do our part in order to create an equal society.
