Generosity Starts with Being Generous Yourself

There is a lot that needs to be done to end racism once and for all, generosity is a key contributor to ending racism since being generous allows us to spread that generosity to others, which will leave lasting imprints on them. There is one catch – you first have to be generous yourself before you can expect others to be generous.
Generosity is something that you can not become proficient in overnight. It is something that you work on and build upon over time. As a result, you are able to develop as a person and beneficially impact those around you. It is a journey that will take some time, so do not give up at the first stop, take the time to develop that trait and soon, you will realize the work you put in will pay off.
So how does one become generous over time? Below are a few ways you can be more generous in your daily life:
- Support someone in a time of need for them. If you know someone who is looking for a new job or a different career path, help them out. This act of generosity helps them, but also helps you with building that network on making the world more generous.
- Self-motivation and self-care. You can not help others if you are not in a good mood to help. You need to care for yourself to make sure you are in a place where you can give to others. If you are feeling down, watch your favorite show, listen to your favorite music, go on a walk, etc. This type of self-motivation is essential in building generosity because when you are able to help yourself during tough times, and you see others going through similar situations, and you can help them by offering suggestions and tips that worked for you. Chances are that at least something you will say will be helpful to them.
There are multiple ways through which you can show generosity. The first step to creating a more generous world is for you to become a generous person. You need to learn how to become generous so that you can help others become generous. Be the catalyst the world needs in sparking the chain reaction that generosity provides.
